This congregation began as a mission effort of the Great Oaks Church of Christ to glorify God. When Great Oaks first began in 1992, it was the elders’ intention to plant a church once the congregation reached a certain size. Over the years, God has blessed Great Oaks with growth. After much prayer, it was decided to plant a church in the Arlington area, given the growth it has had and will continue to have in the upcoming years.

Donelson Oaks Church of Christ is a congregation made up of imperfect people who look to Jesus Christ as the ultimate example of life on Earth. With the teachings of Scripture as a guide, we seek to be a Christ-centered, Bible-based, and family-oriented church that is committed to God, each other, and our community. Our beliefs are based on the pattern of the New Testament. Our faith is rooted in the blessings we have through the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, which we access through baptism into Christ.

We met for our first worship service on April 6, 2025, in a classroom at the Great Oaks Church of Christ. We had 52 in attendance on that day and worshipped there each week until relocating to a private wedding venue in August 2025. On August 3, we met for our first worship service in Arlington, where we had 58 in attendance.

During the summer of 2025, approximately 15 acres were purchased in Arlington, TN, off of Airline Road, near I-40 and Exit 25. We will continue to worship every Sunday and Wednesday at the private wedding venue until the time is right to build and relocate.
